A meeting with your computer

The fastest way to experience the value of AI agents is voice-to-text transcription. If you have already tried it and decided it is not for you, that is normal. Even people who use AI every day need time to build the habit.
Think of voice-to-text as a meeting with your computer. The work gets done during the meeting instead of after it. Talk to your agent the way you talk to a person, and give it the context that is already in your head.
Why voice helps
The missing ingredient in many AI interactions is context. You may understand the problem, the history, the constraints, and the outcome you want, but typing all of that can feel like work before the work.
With voice, you can dump hundreds or thousands of words into a thread. Sometimes that means speaking for 30 minutes. Sometimes it means saying three to five seconds. The model does not mind corrections, typos, or a slightly tangled thought. It benefits from the information.
Make it a daily meeting
Two things hold people back: speaking out loud can feel awkward around other people, and a new habit is easy to forget. Use a meeting room or phone booth when you need privacy, and schedule at least one meeting with your computer each day.
Voice is best for thinking, context dumps, brainstorming, and working through a problem with an agent. Do not use it to produce polished writing, email, or presentations. Use typing, design tools, or presentation software for those tasks.
Transcribe and paste first
Continuous voice, where an AI talks back in real time, is interesting but not the best starting point. Begin with transcribe-and-paste: press a button, talk, press it again, and let the transcript enter your thread.
Good voice-to-text is widely available, including fully offline tools. Offline transcription is fast, avoids connection failures, and lets you speak for as long as you need.
Start talking before you know exactly how to say the thing. A meeting does not require a perfect opening statement. Your job is to provide the material; the agent can help organize it.
