The makers of this site run something called The Apprenticeship. It's an intensive, internal training program for Density.io employees. It was so successful at helping our own team members (and ourselves) build an intuition for frontier artificial intelligence that we started inviting friends outside the company. They loved it and they started inviting their friends and so on.
We've trained a lot of people on how to make productive use of ai. By nature it is a hands-on process. You meet people where they are. We have worked with developers, designers, marketers, product managers, accountants, data scientists, support teams, hedge fund managers, investors, founders, even staff engineers.
No one in ai knows it all. Everyone and especially those building the frontier are learning as they go.
Post-apprenticeship, we've heard some form of "I don't know if my life will be the same" enough times that we wanted to offer more people a free, hands-on support system for a certain type of person. We like to think of these people as folks who have "encountered the frontier" and have lots of questions.
The reality is that the state of the art is changing every three weeks. It can be overwhelming to consume and keep up with, let alone make productive use of. So this service is built on three components.
One — a free hotline anyone can text +1 (205) 401-3109 at any time to get support or a perspective on practical questions that arise from the use of ai. Questions like:
- when I add stuff to an app how concerned should I be about data security?
- what is a good local model to use? and when is it relevant?
- what is a worktree?
- should I buy the 5x plan or the 20x plan?
- why am I running out of tokens so fast?
- how can I get the model to write better?
- cli or app?
- what is webmcp?
Two — posts comprised of lessons, prompts, and experiments, that we've learned and you can use.
Three — we bookmark and curate the news and tools in ai so you don't have to. Terminally online is a fast way of seeing what's happening in the world without having to scroll x.com for 8 hours a day.

An actual real human will respond.
Why did you create this?
So many of our friends, colleagues, and family members want to engage with artificial intelligence, but it can feel daunting, unapproachable, or endlessly complex. We think the real challenge for the industry is not just building tools, but helping people across lots of different industries adopt these extraordinary tools.
How is this related to density.io?
The hotline, the apprenticeship, our philosophy of work, and a number of tools are all exhaust from density.io that we think can be useful to other people. Density.ai is a place for us to share those things.
Will my phone number ever be used for spam?
Decidedly not.
Is this an AI course?
No.
What do you get out of doing this?
When we talk to people about where they are in their adoption of artificial intelligence, we learn a lot about the tools, technologies, and systems they need or could make use of.
